I walk and hike a lot, many of my hiking miles are spent carrying a pack when training or hunting so comfortable boots are important. I currently have 8 pairs of hunting/hiking boots in my closet and these are worn more than any others.
I read several studies stating that a pound on your feet is equal to 7-10 pounds on your back so have purchased several pairs of lighter boots the last few years. These boots are very lightweight at just a pound for the pair, or basically a third of what my Crispi GTX Guides weigh. When I wear these boots I can run on the trail or hike with a 40 pound pack equally well. I've worn these boots hunting the last two years, they are lightweight with great ankle support and I can carry a 45 pound pack without foot or ankle pain. Of course after filling a tag I use heavier boots like my Crispi Guides for the heavy packouts. For my training I start every February carrying my pack on trails in a local state park and track every step and mile of these hikes. My first pair of HOVR 2.0 boots have over 500 trail miles on them with no seam or sole separations. The tread is pretty worn but still serviceable. These boots had, and still have, great traction on dry trails with larger rocks. Where they fall short is when the trails get wet or if there are a lot of smoot roots that you have to climb on or over.
This is a great dry weather boot that weighs only a pound and is very comfortable. I like them so much that I purchased a pair for cold weather camping and hunting.
